I read one fable today. The story is as follows. :
An ass and a fox made an alliance and went out hunting. When a lion appeared in their path, the fox realized the danger that threatened them, and going up to the lion he underlook to hand over the ass to him in exchange for a guarantee of security. On receiving the lion´s promise to let him go, he led the ass into a trap. But the lion, when he saw that the ass could not possibly escape, seized the fox first and then went after the ass at his leisure.

Those who plot against their friends often find to thier surprise that they destroy themselves into the bargain.

나는 오늘 우화 하나를 읽었다. 그 이야기는 다음과 같다. :
당나귀와 여우가 연합해서 사냥을 나갔다. 그들의 앞길에 사자가 나타나자, 여우는 그들을 위협하는 위험을 감지하고 사자에게 접근하며 자신의 안전을 보장해주면 당나귀를 넘겨주겠다고 장담했다. 자기를 보내주겠다는 사자의 약속을 받아내자 여우는 당나귀를 함정으로 유인했다. 하지만 사자는 당나귀가 도저히 도망칠 수 없다는 것을 알고는 여우를 먼저 잡고나서, 한가로운 때에 당나귀를 뒤쫓았다.

친구에 대해 음모를 꾸미는 사람들은 놀랍게도 자신들까지도 파멸시킨다는 것을 때때로 깨닫게 된다.
